I had the basics of flooring from my work as a skilled labourer and wanted to go further and develop my skills to the point that I could fit independently and increase my earning potential.
The tutor is really easy to get on with and a very good teacher, he immediately put me at ease and built up my confidence by his teaching manor.  He thoroughly explained every element of the course, always offered to revisit things I wasn't sure of with out any sign of becoming impatient.  The UKFA provides all of the tools and materials you need during the course.  Days are made up of both theory and practical training and you work on something until you are happy that you have master the skill.
I am very pleased I completed the course and it was most certainly worth the time and money.  It has made me confident in my work and built up my skills base.  I came away from the course and took on a weeks worth of fitting work, which I completed with confidence.  The course has increased my skills confidence and earning potential. I highly recommend the course to anyone that either wants to get into floor fitting or build on existing skills.

This course was just what I was looking for. I had no experience of carpet fitting when I started the course. I went for the 5 day course which included more advanced stair techniques. The course also covers commercial carpet and carpet tile laying. I thoroughly enjoyed my week there and found the tutor to be very competent, easy going and happy to answer any questions that arose during my time with him. In fact I was enjoying it so much I wouldn't have minded if the course lasted longer! On completion of the course I felt very confident that I could competently tackle carpeting fitting in any residential home. Confident enough to start my own supply and fitting business. Thanks UK Flooring Academy!!
There was enough variety for the practical training (bathroom layout, different types of stairs layout and small room models with doorways). I got to practice with various types of underlay, carpet types and various joining methods including hot and cold seams. Even the presentations were excellent.
I enjoyed my whole experience at the UK Flooring Academy. I looked forward to going in from the very first day. The UKFA keeps the numbers down to four students at a time. This will result in everyone on the course experiencing a very personal training experience. There are a couple of village pubs near by if you like to have a drink. They also provide bed and breakfast. Because the course was not too far from me I commuted (about 40 minutes from Castle Bromwich, Birmingham)

‘’I am a landscape gardener to trade and I worked for myself for 4years. When the credit crunch hit my business went from good to bad, I wanted a change in career...Something I wasn’t asking a customer for £4000...after in-depth research I realized that carpet fitting was the best for me as there is a shortage of skilled fitters in my area. I had doubts that I could learn how to fit carpets after a 5 day curse. But when I went on the 5 day course at the uk flooring academy I was very impressed by the depth of the course. The course instructor was learning me the things that no fitter would teach you! You will be hands on from day one on the course and no expense is spared on materials, carpet, etc. I would recommend this course to the others as there is only four maximum on the course.
My goal was to do the course and work for myself with confidence. And thanks to the uk flooring academy I’m doing that now.’’

Hi - I'm not sure if you'll remember me as it was over 2 years ago that I came on your course. I felt carpet fitting experience would benefit me. The course was good fun and I have certainly benefited from it in the sense that I may be fitting carpets in a couple of flats/houses a month on average and as I now do most of my own carpet fitting which saves me a great deal on fitting costs.
