Q: Because the courses are short, will that give me enough
experience to fit carpets?
A: Yes! The courses are intensive, with hands on fitting. Speed however, comes
with practise. But by building up experience, and sticking to their training, many
of our trainees have become successful fitters in a surprisingly short time.
As with any skill, you never stop learning.
Q: Will the course be suitable for me?
A: The courses are suitable for anyone who is reasonably fit and practical.
Although many of our trainees are sent by existing shops or fitters, we also train new
starters with no experience. Trainees should have a good command of the English language
Practical assessments ensure that the course is suitable for people with Dyslexia.
Q: I have looked at a few training options and your courses are cheaper, does that mean the courses are
not as comprehensive?
A: No! We are committed to delivering the best training possible. We are an independent training company
with a wide range of skills, and materials such as the carpets which you will use during your training are donated by sponsors.
On top of that ! Our courses are also VAT free!
Q: Will I receive a certificate?
A: Yes! On completion of a course you will be issued with a UK Flooring Academy certificate which are well known in the trade.
We will also supply training references at your request.
Q: What dates do the courses run on?
A: Course numbers are limited to small groups and start every Monday, including bank holidays in Burton upon Trent.
Courses start at 9am and end when you are satisfied that you have mastered the skills. Vinyl courses start on Saturday.
Q: How do I book and pay?
A: First! call or e-mail to reserve your chosen course and date. (a 10% deposit is required to reserve your place) you can pay
your course fee or deposit using a credit or debit card, or your Paypal account using the drop down options on the
'Buy Now' button found on the 'Choose a Course' page on this site. Alternatively you can pay by cheque
The balance should be paid by cash, card or cheque on the first day of the course.
Q: I live a long way from your training centre, is there somewhere to stay?
A: Yes! There are several B&B options locally. If you are arriving by train or air, we will arrange free transfers to/from
Burton station, or East Midlands airport and any accommodation listed on this site on the links page
Q: I already have some experience, will I get anything from a course.
A: Yes! We have trained clients with a great deal of experience who have enjoyed the chance to try out new tools and
pick up more tricks of the trade.
